The four views#

ViewAttributeBest for
Single pageview="page" (default)Forms, menus, short documents.
Continuous scrollview="scroll"Long reports and ebooks. Only pages near the screen are drawn, so long files stay fast.
Two-page spreadview="spread"Magazines and books designed as facing pages.
3D flipbookview="flip"Catalogues, brochures, lookbooks, yearbooks.

You choose the starting view; readers can switch from More tools unless you hide it with hide="view".

The 3D flipbook#

[foliora file="…/catalogue.pdf" view="flip"]

Or pick 3D FlipBook in the block's View setting, or the 3D FlipBook preset in the Shortcode Builder.

  • Realistic page curl with shading while a page turns.
  • Page-turn sound — a short effect generated in the browser with Web Audio. No audio file is downloaded.
  • Click, drag or use the keyboard (← →) to turn pages.
  • Reduced motion — readers whose system asks for less motion get calm transitions.

Small screens and touch#

  • Spread and flipbook fall back to a single page when the viewer is narrower than 640 px — a two-page spread is unreadable on a phone.
  • Swipe to turn pages and pinch to zoom on touch screens, in every view.

For flipbooks, set a generous height such as height="80vh" so both pages are large enough to read.

Large documents#

Foliora draws the visible page (or spread) and, in scroll view, only the pages near the screen. The file itself still downloads once, so compress big PDFs before upload when you can. See Performance & caching.
