Pro Requires Foliora Pro
Lead capture
Let readers start for free, then ask for an email at the page you choose. Leads go to email, a webhook and CSV.
When a reader reaches the chosen page, a short form appears over the viewer. After they submit it, they keep reading.
Where to turn it on#
| Scope | How |
|---|---|
| Every PDF viewer | Pro Settings → Analytics & leads → Ask for email: tick “On every PDF viewer by default” and set the page (default 2). |
| One embed | [foliora file="…" lead="3"] — or lead="off" to exclude it from the site-wide setting. |
| A protected link | The link's Ask for email option. |
“Never ask logged-in users” is on by default.
The form#
- Name field: Hidden, Optional (default) or Required.
- Heading — default “Keep reading”.
- Text — default “Enter your email to read the rest of this document.”
- Button — default “Continue reading”.
- Consent checkbox — leave empty for no checkbox.
Where leads go#
- Foliora → Analytics → Leads — list, delete, CSV export.
- Notification email (optional).
- Webhook URL (optional) — Zapier, Make, n8n or your CRM. Each lead is POSTed as JSON:
{ "event": "foliora.lead", "site": "https://example.com", "lead": { "email": "…", "name": "…", "document": "…", "source": "…" } } - WordPress privacy export and erase tools include leads.
Spam protection#
A hidden honeypot field, a minimum fill time and a limit of 10 submissions per IP per hour.
Lead capture works for PDFs and gathers contacts — it does not protect the file. Use Secure Mode or access rules for that.
For developers#
add_action( 'foliora_pro/lead_captured', function ( $lead ) {
// Send to your mailing list.
} );
document.addEventListener( 'foliora:lead', function ( e ) {
console.log( 'Lead on', e.detail );
} );
