Quick start: embed your first PDF

Upload a PDF and show it on a page in about two minutes — with the block, the shortcode or a pasted link.

Option 1 — the Foliora Viewer block#

  1. Edit a page and add the Foliora Viewer block (search “Foliora” or “PDF”).
  2. Click Select PDF and pick or upload a file in the Media Library. The first page appears as a preview.
  3. In the block sidebar choose the View (single page, scroll, spread or 3D flipbook), height and which buttons to show.
  4. Publish and open the page.

Option 2 — the shortcode#

Copy the PDF's URL from Media → Library and paste this anywhere shortcodes work (classic editor, widgets, page builders):

[foliora file="https://example.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/brochure.pdf"]

Add attributes to change it, for example a flipbook that opens on page 2 in sepia:

[foliora file="…/brochure.pdf" view="flip" page="2" theme="sepia"]

Every attribute is listed in the shortcode reference.

Paste a direct .pdf URL on its own line in the editor. When Direct PDF auto-embed is on (default), it becomes a viewer automatically. See Auto-embed.

Use the dashboard checklist#

Foliora → Dashboard walks you through the same steps: drop a PDF to upload it, copy a ready shortcode, or click Create test page to get a draft page with the viewer already in it.

Want to reuse the same embed on many pages? Build it once in the Shortcode Builder, save it, and use [foliora id="1"]. Edit it later and every page updates.
