Lightbox popup
Open a document in a popup from a button, a link or its cover. Nothing loads until the reader opens it.
On this page
Two ways#
[foliora_lightbox file="…/brochure.pdf" trigger="button" label="Read the brochure"]
or add popup="true" to any viewer:
[foliora file="…/menu.pdf" popup="true" trigger="cover" view="flip"]
Attributes#
| Attribute | Values | What it does |
|---|---|---|
trigger | button, link, cover | What the reader clicks: a button, a text link, or the document's cover image. |
label | text | Text of the button or link. Defaults to the document's title. |
every [foliora] attribute | view, theme, page, download… all work inside the popup. |
How it behaves#
- The popup is a native
<dialog>; Esc, the close button and a click on the backdrop close it. - The viewer inside starts only when the popup opens — pages with many lightboxes stay fast.
- Closing and reopening keeps the reader's place.
- Works with PDFs and EPUBs, Secure Mode, access rules and analytics.
The bookshelf opens every document in this lightbox automatically.
